The sneaker world is full of competition. There are so many brands that
have so many product lines it can be very confusing to a new consumer.
Thus I wanted to create a top 10 list of the most comfortable sneakers
currently on the market in my opinion. This is strictly from a causal
perspective, walking, sitting, every day to work sneakers. Lets dive
in.
Nike RosheRun
The Nike
RosheRun has been a fan favorite for a couple years now based on the
relaxed comfort lifestyle fit. They literally feel like you are not
wearing any shoes. These also changed the game for me when I tried to
wear these without socks. Yes you can do that with these and they are
very comfy! They are not the most stylish sneakers in my eyes but as
soon as you try them on you will understand why so many people favor
this model.
Asics Gel Lyte V
The Asics Gel Lyte V is a model that I am new to, but it has a long
standing history of being a comfortable model. The Asics Gel Lyte III
should be honorable mention as well because I hear nothing but great
things about that as well. What sold me on the GLV is the instant
comfort from the Gel Lyte heel cushioning, it absorbed the shock of each
step I took. If you haven’t tried a pair on, I suggest you do.
Saucony Grid 9000
The Saucony Grid 9000 popped up on my radar with this colorway, the
Dirty Martini colorway from Ubiq x Saucony Originals. The EVA midsole
matched with the GRID system is a great combo and these shocked me how
comfortable they were considering the retro aspect.
Nike Kobe 9
You don’t see basketball sneakers on the list of ‘most comfortable
sneakers” usually, but I think the exception comes with the Kobe line.
The Kobe 9 is a very comfortable sneaker with a line of sneakers that
vary in price and options. Kobe 9 EM, Kobe 9 Mid EXT, Kobe 9 Flyknit,
Kobe 9 Elite, you get the picture. What all of these have in common is a
drop in Lunarlon mid-sole that provides excellent cushioning.
Nike Flyknit Lunar 3
These gems are light and comfortable, and provide a nice evolution to
the previous Flyknit Lunar series. An honorable mention here would be
the Nike Lunarglide 6 since that shoe has a very similar Lunarlon
cushioning system. Lunarlon has provided insane amounts of comfort since
it came out at least 6 years ago. The pairing with the breathable and
surprisingly durable flyknit material is a match made in comfort heaven.
Nike Air Max 2015
5 words: Full Length Max Air Unit. This pretty much sums up why these are awesome. Thought the Nike
Air “Gimmick” was dead huh? Wrong. While I have heard from hardcore
runners that the Air Max line is now the one they prefer, I can say that
from a casual perspective the Air is amazing in these. Try the Nike Air Max Flyknit for an even more comfortable experience as it is paired with the flyknit material.
Adidas Ultra Boost
These are the flagship adidas Boost model, the Ultra Boost. Plain and
simple, if the list was for comfort AND performance, these would be
number 1. Some people may place these as number 1 just due to the
comfort due to the amazing, no wait, AMAZING comfort, however there are a
few reasons I had to hold back. The main reason for me is the snug-ness
from the sock liner, having no ability to really loosen this took away
from the comfort a bit for me. On the flip side the Primeknit was much
better than I expected. The freedom of the forefoot is very nice. While I
can’t speak to the durability of this compared to the Nike Flyknit, the PrimeKnit is much softer and more breathable by comparison to Nike. Yes, you heard me correct. These are a must try.
Nike Lunar Flyknit Chukka
The Nike Lunar Flyknit Chukka has been historically the most comfortable
sneaker I owned. It is extremely lightweight, with extreme comfort and
cushioning. The flyknit is also a great and these were my go to summer
sneaker with no socks. If you liked the RosheRun, I recommended this
model to everyone because it was like an enhanced version of that. The
only downside to these is the Nike + dongle spot under the cushioning,
this eventually started squeaking with every step I took so I had to
retire 1 of my pairs. These are a must try however, and I recommend the
Lunarlon version, not the Free version in my opinion.
Adidas Pure Boost
Where do I begin with this sneaker. Taking your first steps in the
adidas Pure Boost is like experiencing walking on pillowing clouds of
heaven on earth. The Boost cushioning is the best it can get. While you
may not like the look of the model or cushion system, I dare you to try
them on and see for yourself. These have the freedom of your toes in
the toebox similar to the RosheRun, but the cushioning of the boost.
The design of the upper is simple, but elegant. The only complaint I
had is the cut of the tongue and back collar area were not comfortable
without socks as they would rub into your ankles. These are truely a
game change for the casual sneaker lover, if you haven’t tried them out
yet, you are behind the curve.
Adidas Pure Boost 2
And while it seems like a monopoly at the top 3/4 spots of my list, I do this because it is truly how I feel. I used to be a Nike elitist, for over 18 years only buying Nike /
Jordan products. However in the last few years I have mixed it up and a
huge contributor to that is because of the adidas Pure Boost model. So
why do they take up the #1 and #2 spot of this list? The 2.0 version
had important improvements that made the PB1 and PB2 slightly different.
The improvements of the Pure Boost 2 were small, but after a couple
days of wear it is safe to say these are my most comfortable sneakers I
own out of over 400 pairs. The back collar and thin tongue that rubbed
against my ankles from the Pure Boost 1 was corrected in the Pure Boost
2! Also the small plastic toe guard was removed.
Well one of the most comfortable sneaker that is not in the list is the Nike VaporMax
Awesome sneaker, just love the technology behind this beautiful kick.
Well that was for this blog, Check out Macikz Kickz if you want to cop a pair or two +254707248258, or pay a visit in Kitengela.
